 Americans are being propagandized into a patriotic fervor to call upon God, since the 911 Terrorist Attack on America. Television ads and posters throughout the nation herald “God Bless America.”  The American red, white and blue flags are flying everywhere. Even the pledge of allegiance “One nation under God” is back in style, although it was dropped by many schools and many atheists contested it in court systems. The rationale for dropping God from the educational system is that the Church and State are separate.

Even Christian ministers have bought this propaganda agenda. God is being used as the rallying point that is supposed to unify the people and have them blindly follow government policies without question.

This shows that some religious leaders and people are completely ignorant and blind to what is in the Bible. One of the first requirements of Israel was a belief in and the love of Yahweh-Elohim. Moses wrote one of the first commandments required of Israel. “Hear, O Israel: Yahweh (The LORD) our Elohim (God), the Yahweh (LORD) is one! You shall love the Yahweh (LORD) your Elohim (God) with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength (Deu. 6:4-5).” Yahshua the Messiah confirmed this when the elders of Israel asked Him what is the greatest commandment in the Law, he told them that the Law of Moses was based upon the principle of “love of Yahweh” and your neighbor (Mt. 22:37-39).

Now no one stops to think and ask is it hypocritical to call upon God (Yahweh-Elohim) in an emergency or some tragedy in a culture that denies God’s existence and is secular or worldly.

The American children are taught in the public school system that God does not exist and the creation of the universe is a spontaneous event that took place without a Creator. Darwin’s theory of evolution is taught in public school as fact despite the lack of scientific evidence.

Another question that Americans need to ask is will Yahweh (Lord God) answer the country’s prayer in times of crisis when they have ignored and deny His existence. King Solomon answered this in Proverb as follows. “I [Yahweh] also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.  “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me (Pro. 1:26-28).” 

Focus of this article

 The focus of this article is upon the propaganda of “God Bless America.” It is a travesty or mockery of God (Elohim) to call upon Him in an emergency while teaching that God does not exist to the American children in the public school and forbidding children to pray to Him in schools. Thus, the article will examine the philosophy of public education, which is one of the sources of this hypocrisy. 

American Education

To see the hypocrisy in America concerning “God Bless America” one has to look no further than the American educational system. God has been banned from the public educational system. Prayer and bible studies have been prohibited for more than 40 years.

A quote from my Retreat 2001 outline called “Mind Control of Education” follows.  Education is the most important process for any civilization. R. J. Rushdoony explained the purpose of education in his book The Messianic Character of American Education. “…education is that function which is concerned with conditioning man for his role in life (p. xii).” Mr. Rushdoony asked the question “what is his role?” He goes to say “conditioning cannot be done without a goal in view.”

The book the Unseen Hand by Ralph Epperson quotes the German philosopher Johann Fichte’s view of education. He said: “ …that education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupil are thus schooled they will be incapable … of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school master would have wished.

In fact the American education was corrupted from the use of the scriptures in the late 1840’s. Another quote from my Retreat 2001 outline about the purpose of education follows. “Rushdoony states the following quotes of Horace Mann (1796-1859), called the father of common schools, who believes education should be controlled by the state. Mann writes: “the religion would be best served by the schools and the church was in error in their interpretation of their faith and its revelation.”  Mann also believed that state education is the regenerator of mankind’s’ morals and the source of his material wealth. Mann writes: “education is not only a moral renovator, and multiplier of intellectual power, but …the most prolific parent of material wealth.” Mann compares the goals of education with the church. He writes: “The millennium of Christian hope is to be obtained by means of education, which so-far as human agency is concerned-must look to for the establishment of peace and righteousness upon earth, and for the enjoyment of glory and happiness on earth.”

The American educational system is placing the “mark of the beast” on children (Rev. 13:15-18) by indoctrinating them with the doctrine of atheism. King David said that he was a beast because of his ignorance of Yahweh. He wrote: “So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee (Ps 73:22).” So a beast is anyone that does not have spiritual understanding of Yahweh-Elohim. 

Dewey’s Philosophy

John Dewey (1859-1952) was a socialist and atheist and he is called the father of progressive education in America. Many educators have said no individual had more influence on the thinking of American education than John Dewy.

He believed that the child is the ward of the state and should worship the state government as God and is taught to obey it. Clearly, this tenet is one of Communism, which is another form of socialism. Dewey confirms this by writing:  “…the child does not go to school to develop individual talents but rather are prepared as “units” in an organic society (p. 65).” Communism is a form of government where all property, means of production, and services are owned by the government.

Dewey wrote in the 1920s: “There is no God and no soul. Hence, there are no needs for props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable (unchangeable) truth is also dead and buried. There is no room for fixed, natural law or permanent absolutes” This is just a devious and corruptible lie. Teaching or conditioning American children that there is no God and that everything is relative and there are no absolute morals sows confusion and moral degradation. Lucifer did the same thing to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden by telling them the lie that they would not surly die (Gn. 3:1-7).

Anyone that is not brain dead knows that there are absolute laws of nature, laws such as gravity and nutrition. If one slips, gravity causes one to fall down to the ground, and if one does not eat food with vitamin C, one gets the disease of scurvy. These examples prove that natural laws are absolute and there are consequences for violating these principles. If the laws of the universe were relative, there could be no physical universe for the laws would be constantly changing. The scriptures said: “For I am the Yahweh (LORD), I changeth not (Mal 3:6);”

There are also spiritual laws that are absolute, such as the principles of hate and love. For example, if one exercises hate in one’s heart and mind, it leads to self-destruction and if love is exercised in the heart and mind, it leads to spiritual growth and development. This never changes and is inviolable or unbreakable. From Dewey’s denial of absolutes, one can see why the American education system is in such a state of confusion.

In short, the public education system is teaching American children to become atheists. So the question is: how can a nation call upon God when the children are taught not to believe in a deity and that there are no moral absolutes. This shows the hypocrisy of the “God Bless America” propaganda. 

Scripture rebuttal

It should be noted that the scriptures clearly point that Yahweh required Israel to believe in His existence and worship Him and teach their children about His laws, which were embodied in the Ten Commandment Laws spoken from Mt. Sinai after they came out of Egypt (Ex. 20^th chp.).

Moses wrote: “Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Yahweh (LORD) your Elohim (God) commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up”.

Israel was required to believe and keep the Laws of Moses. If they failed to keep these laws, they were cursed (Deu. 28:15). So in order for Yahweh to bless Israel, the requirement was that Israel had to obeys His laws (Deu. 28:2). This shows that espousing the propaganda of “God Bless America” without committing to the principles of Yahweh, cannot result in blessings for this country.

 The Apostle Paul points out the condition for the pleasing our Creator Yahweh under the New Testament or Covenant. He wrote: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6).” Yahshua the Messiah confirmed this, for He said: “Have faith in Elohim (Mk. 11:22).” Thus, the Creator’s requirement is to believe in His existence and have implicit faith in Him.

Finally, the only way to become “One Nation under God” as stated in the Pledge of Allegiance is to return to the principles of Yahshua the Messiah and worship Elohim in SPIRIT and TRUTH (Jn. 4:21-24) according to the scriptures.
